Fred A. Caldwell, Sr. Pastor Teacher

 

Bishop Fred A. Caldwell, Sr., was born in Shreveport, LA to Mr. Dawkins Caldwell and Mrs. Olive Faye Caldwell, on March 20, 1946 at the old Charity hospital. He is one of five children.
 
His early years were spent in the Stoner Hill Community of Southeast Shreveport. The remainder of his childhood was spent in the El Camino Way Public Housing Project (Jackson Heights Public Housing) located in the Allendale Community of Shreveport.
 
He is married to the love of his life, the former Mary Kornegay and to this blessed union, two wonderful children were born: Timi D. Caldwell-Dixon and Fred A. Caldwell, II. Bishop and Sis. Mary K. have three beautiful grandsons: Allen Jacobe Caldwell, Aaron Joseph Caldwell, and Chase Mikal Dixon.
 
Bishop Caldwell is a 1964 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport, LA where he served as a class officer. After graduation, he joined the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army; he advanced rapidly up the ranks and reached E-5 Buck Sergeant in record time. Bishop Caldwell received a combat infantry badge for his exemplary service in the Latin American Theatre of the Dominican Republic and received an Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1967.
 
In 1972, Bishop Caldwell made a decision to go to his home and commit suicide, instead, he met the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus saved him, cleaned him up and called him into the gospel ministry on April 24, 1977. He preached his first sermon at Avenue Baptist Church, under the pastorage of Pastor Lawrence Daniel Scott on June 12, 1977. Bishop Caldwell and his family were called to come and help Greenwood Acres’ Pastor Milton McElroy Flynn in the summer of 1981. At that time, Greenwood Acres had approximately thirteen active members. Today, Greenwood Acres is “one church, two locations” and boasting an active membership in the mega hundreds.
 
Bishop Caldwell received his Ph.D. degree from Friends International Christian University of Merced, CA and in 1992 founded the Greenwood Acres Christian College and School of Ministry. The college is fully accredited and is helping to strengthen the body of Christ with a staff of anointed instructors, who teach God’s uncompromising eternal word to students.
 
In 1994, Bishop Fred A. Caldwell, Sr. was called and consecrated a Bishop in the Lord’s church at the Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA by the first presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church International Fellowship, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. and the Bishop’s Council. Bishop Caldwell became the first Full Gospel Baptist Church Bishop in Northwest Louisiana.
 
Greenwood Acres is a powerful church with a global outreach through 1300AM- KSYB Radio, owned by Greenwood Acres. Over 2.5 million bible tracts have been passed out to reach the lost and to strengthen the saved. Since 1981, the church has led annual drives to clothe the naked and feed the hungry through the members’ resources.
 
Bishop Caldwell has written four powerful books to bless the Believers; Knowing God, The Righteousness of Faith, Trials and Glory, and How to Handle your Alexanders, He did me much evil.
 
Bishop Caldwell was awarded Southern University Leader of the Year 2002-2003. He was keynote speaker at the S.C.L.C. 50th Anniversary, a memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., held in New Orleans, LA. Bishop Caldwell is a developer of a major subdivision, Timberknoll Gated Community in Shreveport, LA. He is Founder/President/ CEO of Amistad Communications and the host of the Know Your Bible Radio Broadcast International, reaching millions daily with solid bible teaching, changing lives to God’s glory.
 
Bishop Fred A. Caldwell, Sr. is in great demand as a bona fide and anointed bible teacher, with a word from God, which causes people to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To God alone be the Glory.
